  • Betsy Ross made the first American Flag on Hemp cloth for the Republic.

  • Patent No. 6,630,507 was taken out for the medicinal use of cannabis by the United State Department of Health and Human Services. Inside the registered patent HHS claims that there is potential use for the non-psychoactive cannabinoids in cannabis for diseases such as cirrhosis, and cannabinoids could be used to protect the brain from damage or deterioration.

  • "Hemp was entirely legal for the first 162 years of America’s existence until its demonization in 1930’s at the hands of Harry Anslinger, the first commissioner of the Treasury Department’s Federal Bureau of Narcotics (FBN) coined it: “the devil’s weed with roots in hell.” Dude. At Anslinger’s urging, the government rebranded hemp by calling it by its Mexican name “marijuana,” in hopes to scare the public into supporting the Hemp Prohibition. (Anslinger was a known racist and a staunch supporter of the prohibition, spouting hateful propaganda like “Reefer makes darkies think they’re as good as white men."

  • The use of hemp cord in pottery identified at ancient village site dating back over 10,000 years, located in the area of modern day city of Taiwan.

  • The famous writings written on hemp paper include: The Gutenberg Bible (15th century); The King James Bible (17th century); Thomas Paine's pamphlets: The Rights of Man, Common Sense, andThe Age of Reason; The works of Mark Twain, Alexander Dumas, and Victor Hugo; and Lewis Carroll's beloved Alice in Wonderland.

  • Paper made out of hemp is of much greater quality and durability than that made out of cotton, and it lasts longer. During Colonial times, a few hundred years ago, bibles, maps, paper money, stocks & bonds, and newspapers were all printed or written on hemp paper.

  • The USA is the only industrialized country that banned the cultivation of industrial hemp in 1970. Slowly the laws in the USA are changing to allow farmers to grow hemp! The 10 states that have already passed laws allowing hemp production are California, Colorado, Kentucky, Maine, Montana, North Dakota, Oregon, Vermont, Washington, and West Virginia, and the vote comes as even more states are showing an interest in hemp.

  • Hemp is a robust plant, and requires no herbicides or pesticides grow and the seeds cannot be genetically modified.

  • Hemp seeds are considered the “perfect food” and contain all 20 Amino Acids, including the 8 Essential Amino Acids and a naturally balanced 1:3 ratio of Omega-3 and Omega-6 Essential Fatty Acids.

  • “The oil seed varieties most commonly grown for food can grow up to 10-15 feet tall within 90-120 days.”

  • Hemp is a profitable and potential “multi-income” crop for cultivators and harvesters, as both seeds, oil and fiber can be processed.

  • Hemp is a highly valuable crop with oil, seed and fiber varieties that can be used for over 25,000 of useful everyday products, for example; fabrics, rope, paper, food, health and skin care, beauty products, printing inks, paint, and building materials.

  • Hemp can provide four times as much pulp for paper with at least 4-7 times less pollution than tree paper without ecological damage.

  • Presidents George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and Ben Franklin all grew Hemp on their farms.

  • No permit or prescription required for the purchase or consumption of CBD Hemp products.

  • CBD Hemp Oil is legal everywhere in all 50 states in the USA (and most other countries in the world).

  • CBD Hemp oil is not psychoactive
You unequivocally CANNOT get "buzzed" or "intoxicated" by consuming CBD Hemp Oil or any whole, raw natural product from industrial hemp plants in any matter. Unlike “Medical Marijuana,” hemp CBD does not contain the psychoactive properties of THC.  It is well known in scientific research and the medical community at large that CBD is anti-psychoactive.

  • CBD does not produce a high when ingested or smoked, unlike THC. Due to hemp's lack of affinity for CB1 receptors, CBD is non-psychoactive. CB1 receptors are found in large numbers and concentrations in the brain, and are the pathways responsible for the psychoactive effects of THC. THC does have an affinity to CB1 receptors, and it's the attachment of the THC to these CB1 receptors, that produces the sensation of the "high" normally associated with marijuana. Industrial hemp and marijuana are not identical. Marijuana and hemp are different varieties of the same species of plant, Cannabis sativa L. There are different varieties of Cannabis, just as a flamingo and a pelican are of the same "class" of "Aves" but differ in their "order" where the pelican is from the order of Pelecaniformes and the flamingo is from the order of Phoenicopteriformes. Marijuana and hemp are scientifically different and cultivated in different ways. Marijuana is the flowering tops and leaves of psychoactive varieties of Cannabis that are grown for their high levels of THC.

  • Cannabidiol (CBD) - is one of over 100 cannabinoids found in cannabis (of which THC is a cannabinoid as well). It is a major constituent of the plant, second to tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). Compared with THC, CBD is not psychoactive in individuals, and is considered to have a wider scope of medical applications than THC Currently CBD is being tested in medical laboratories all over the world to unlock the effects it has on conditions such as: spasms, anxiety, inflammation, discomforts, nausea, convulsions and sleep. Other research indicates that sativa l. hemp CBD increases alertness.

  • Hemp produces 4 x's as much fiber per acre than pine trees.

  • Pine tree paper can be recycled up to 3 x's. However, hemp paper can be recycled up to 7 x's.

  • Hemp and humanity have co-existed in unison for over 10,000 years.

  • Prior to prohibition, hemp remained the largest crop on the planet. In fact, hemp was the very first agricultural crop in America.

  • Hemp farms were banned in the United States but continued all over the world. The countries of today leading the industrial hemp production are China, Russia, Hungary, England, Romania, France, Italy, Spain, Australia, Holland, Germany, Poland, Ukraine, India, Holland and Asia.

  • Technically growing hemp is legal, the caveat being that growers must obtain a special permit to do so from the DEA. Very few people ever receive the permit and there are numerous rules necessitated to maintain the permit, such as, the crop must be guarded and surrounded by fencing, razor wire, security guards or watch dogs.

  • Excavations have discovered hemp paper that was over 1,500 years old because hemp paper's fibers resists decomposition, therefore if an acid-free production was utilized the hemp paper does not yellow with age.

  • During WWII hemp was essential to the war effort. So the federal government of the United States subsidized American farmers hence over a million acres of hemp were grown using government subsidies.

  • Up until 1880s all schoolbooks were made of hemp or flax paper.

  • Between 1630 - 1880 it was perfectly legal to pay your taxes in hemp.

  • Benjamin Franklin initiated one of the first American paper mills for the production of hemp.

  • In 1941, Ford constructed a hemp fueled prototype car that was partially constructed from hemp composites.

  • During the Colonial Period it was against the law NOT to grow hemp on your property. Hemp was required for the production of the sails on sail boats and for the rope needed on the ships. This was one of the main reasons why Americans were legally bound to grow hemp. Sails were also referred to as canvass. The word canvass is a derivative of the the word cannabis.

Frequently Asked Questions:

What Is Broad Spectrum CBD Hemp Oil by ZoGena and How Does It Work?
  • Cannabidiol or CBD for short, is a chemical compound derived from industrial hemp. This all-natural botanical concentrate in liquid form called CBD hemp oil, includes the cannabinoids and the fatty acids found in hemp plants. Broad spectrum hemp oil gives you more than just the typical “hemp” compounds – it gives you powerful results without the THC. The THC has been effectively removed to non-traceable levels in all ZoGena products. You never have to worry about that THC test ever again!
  • CBD hemp oil is not only safe, but it can provide numerous ANTIOXIDANT, ANTI-INFLAMMATION AND NEUROPROTECTIVE benefits.
  • Hemp is considered to be a Super Food otherwise known as a nutraceutical by many. Hemp offers a complete spectrum of natural proteins, with all 20 amino acids used in the human body, including all eight essential amino acids.
  • Hemp contains the perfect ratio of omegas 3, 6, & 9 and has approximately 85+ known and even more unknown naturally indigenous cannabinoids including CBD, CBG, CBN, CBC, CBL, and CBDV to name a few...(SEE CANNABINOID CHART AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS PAGE).
  • CBD Hemp has high levels of enzymes, fiber, vitamins A, B1, B2, B6, C, D, and E and is rich in essential minerals such as calcium, zinc, iron, magnesium, manganese, and phosphorus. CBD is packed full of natural carotenes, flavonoids, keytones, nitrogenous compounds and terpenes.

Can Hemp Oil Make Someone High?:
  • CBD contains .3% THC or less by law and is not psychotropic, meaning it does not produce the “high” associated with marijuana. It is thus considered THC-Free and is legal in all 50 states. But, Zogena goes the extra mile to create a virtually "ZERO" THC broad spectrum formula with NO noticeable traces of THC.

How Does the Non-THC Hemp CBD Operate Inside the Human Body to Create Its Benefits?:
  • CBD interacts with and supports the body’s endogenous and endocannabinoid system. This system plays a crucial role our well-being. Endocannabinoids and their receptors are everywhere in the body – from organs to cells. The endocannabinoid system performs various functions, but the goal is always homeostasis or balance, maintaining a stable internal environment to counteract variations in the external environment.

What Are Botanical Terpenes?
  • Terpenes are the fragrant oils that give botanical plants and flowers like Cannabis their aromatic diversity. Along with being responsible for the aromas of botanical plants, terpenes also interact with the psychological effects associated with those aroma.
  • The FDA and other agencies have generally recognized terpenes as “safe.” Terpenes act on receptors and neurotransmitters; they are prone to combine with or dissolve in lipids or fats; they act as serotonin uptake inhibitors; they enhance norepinephrine activity; they increase dopamine activity; and they augment GABA (the “downer” neurotransmitter that counters glutamate, the “upper”).

What Are Cannabinoids?
  • Cannabinoids are chemical compounds that act on cannabinoid receptors in the brain. The most well-known cannabinoids include THC, CBD, CBDV, CBC, CBG, CBN and THCa. However, the Zogena brand of Hemp CBD is virtually free of the cannabinoid, THC entirely, yet it maintains a wonderful bouquet of adaptogenic cannabinoid compounds, flavonoids and terpenes for that full on "entourage effect" you should enjoy and love.
